Looking for a new way to experience Christmas this year, or trying to find an annual Christmas tradition to start with your friends and family? Here are 5 great options for a new, exciting way to celebrate Christmas!

Musicals

At this time of year? Absolutely! There are many different musicals happening this time of year, including the White Christmas, Elf, a Christmas Carol, David, the Christmas Tree Ship, and more. You can find a variety of musicals on Discover Lancaster’s Christmas page.

Christmas Train Experience

Hop on a train this year for another immersive, family friendly experience. Stone Gables Estate hosts several holiday experiences, including their Santa Express, that takes you on a steam locomotive replica. And, who knows? You may even see Santa aboard the train!

Ziplining Through Christmas Lights

This is an experience of a lifetime. Join us here at Refreshing Mountain for any of our 3 Christmas zipline adventures, which include experiences from the 3 zipline courses offered at Refreshing Mountain. This experience takes place in the night, so we decorated Refreshing Mountain in miles of lights to make the experience magical. If you’re not up for trying ziplining at night quite yet, you can also participate in our Christmas Light Walkthrough, which includes our Wildlife Center tour and you can climb stairs up to our Observation Deck for an elevated view of our lights (that you don’t have to zipline to)!

Downtown Mount Joy’s Elf Hunt

If you are an avid Christmas lover, you most likely have heard of Elf on a Shelf. Mount Joy takes this fun holiday tradition a step further. Explore downtown Mount Joy in search of 38 hidden elves from November 26th – December 17th.

Visit Christmas Villages

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than being surrounded by Winter Wonderlands all around Lancaster! Villages throughout the season include the Christmas Village at Ironstone Ranch (located at the Stone Gables estate, with the Christmas trains), the Kitchen Kettle Village, and Koziar’s Christmas Village.

With all these immersive experiences to choose from, I challenge you to try something different and create a new tradition for you and your love ones to experience.
