Times of Refreshment

I can’t think of a better place than camp to spend time looking at your life–repenting where there is need, turning to God, and feeling that sweet release of your sins being wiped out!  Camp is the perfect place to step back and have a “time of refreshing” that comes from the Lord.   The beauty is that there is no perfect age you have to be for this experience.  Children, youth, a camp counselors, retreat participants, camp staff, and adults can equally benefit.

Many people point to a time at camp or on a church camp retreat that was a spiritual high.  Those times of extreme refreshment with God are anchors that we can point back to even when times are tough.   There is both comfort and challenge in saying to yourself, “that was a special moment in my relationship with Jesus and I want to go back to that point” .   I’ve heard people go so far as to say their time away at camp was ordained by God.

Refreshing Mountain’s name comes from Acts 3:19, “Repent, then, and turnto God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord”.  We pray it is exactly that for each person that comes on our grounds.
