Nick Weaver is an amazing member of our activities team. Activities_StaffHe worked here in high school for two summers, but found other employment after graduation. For years he’d come to the pool with his family and thought the ziplines and high ropes course looked so cool, but it was in  January of 2013 that he began working in activities full time.

Nick’s favorite part of the job is being outside for most of the time and “getting to play around up in the air.” He encourages people not to let fear get the best of them. A lot of people don’t think they can make the first zipline, but after they take a leap of faith (literally), they end up loving the ride. “You can do it,” says Nick. “Never say you won’t be able to do it or you’re too scared.”

Outside of working at Refreshing Mountain, Nick enjoys hanging out with his wife, as well as pursuing his hobbies of photography, videography, and ultimate Frisbee.

For Nick and the other zipline guides, remembering the names of the zipliners is very important to establishing trust and generally making the tour more enjoyable. However, this comes with its challenges—for one tour, Nick remember having four ladies come named Jen, Jenny, Jenna, and Jeanine. “We couldn’t keep them straight!” he remembers.
