What a fun place! We did the zipline and ropes course tour that took about 1 1/2 hours. The guides were so nice, knowledgeable, and helpful, especially to those that needed extra assistance. The resort is beautiful and clean. I thought it was newer but our guide said it has been around since the 1980s. I highly recommend at least a day trip, or stay a few days. It is amazing.

We rsvp for 10am.4 kids between ages 9 and 13 and 2 adults. We had so much fun at the ziplines and the elevated obstacle course. The first level of the obstacle course is tricky but easy, the 2nd level a little harder for us but still doable 😂. We didn't wait much in line. The staff was friendly and fast. About Refreshing Mountain

Escape to Refreshing Mountain, a year-round, non-denominational, Christian Retreat and Adventure Center in PA, built on 80 acres of beautiful Pennsylvania woodland. We aim to help you host heart-changing outdoor group activities and retreats for youth groups, women’s ministries, men’s groups, families, and other gatherings.

Our mission is to provide clean, comfortable, and safe facilities where you can relax and get refreshed. We’ll take care of the details so you can relax and enjoy your time spent with us! We offer retreat packages for groups of all sizes that include meals, lodging, and the use of our meeting spaces and recreational facilities. We also provide guided activities to complement any retreat or group outing.

FAQs

Do I need to make a reservation?

Reservations are highly recommended whether you call ahead or book online. If you stop in, you might have to wait an hour or more for the activity you want. We recommend you call ahead or book online to ensure availability even for day-of bookings. 

What are the age, weight, and height restrictions for the activities?
    • All activities have a maximum weight of 280 pounds.
    • For most of the “high adventure” activities, individual riders must be at least 5 years old and weigh a minimum of 60 pounds to zip line. For the Aerial Excursion Course and Rappelling, participants must be 8 years old.
    • An adult MUST accompany children under 13 for the Challenge and Aerial Excursion. For other activities, an adult need only be present. Please see the AGE RATIO GRID for specifics.

    We recommend you contact us online or call ahead for any concerns you might have.

What should I know about the day of my activity?
    • All participants MUST be wearing closed-toed shoes, like a sneaker.
    • If you are wearing hoops or dangling earrings, or a necklace, you will be asked to remove them while doing the activity. There is a safe place you can keep your belongings.
    • Hair that is below the shoulder should be pulled pack.
    • Please arrive 15 minutes before your first scheduled activity. Come to the office, and we will direct you from there.

    We recommend you call ahead or book online to ensure availability even for day-of bookings.

Is the property safe and friendly for children?

We are very intentional about promoting and preserving a family-friendly environment that is welcoming to all guests. Our goals for hospitality and many of our policies reflect the Judeo-Christian founding of the retreat center. We feel strongly that our guidelines are essential in helping us promote a wholesome, safe, enjoyable, family-friendly environment for everyone.
